A bifunctional optical reporter for tracking estrogen response dynamics in neurons

neuro-seeER distinguishes estrogen-sensitive neurons from neurons actively responding to estrogen. It can be used with standard microscopy and photometry approaches in vitro and in vivo, including longitudinal measurements in behaving animals.

About neuro-seeER

The reporter combines stable cre-dependent red fluorescence marking cell identity with a short-lived green signal reporting estrogen-response-element activity. This makes it possible to distinguish cells actively responding to estrogen within a chosen parent population.
